During
the post-planting years, it is important to take into account the
following:
-Rooting is essential for the plant to reach
its full growth and be viable.
-The trunk is the structure of the vine-stock.
-Branches support fruit weight.
-Branches and spurs should be kept short to
avoid premature ageing of the plant and poor circulation of the
sap. It is thus important to keep the vine shoots located at the
bottom of the branches or spurs (along the tying-up).
