RIBOL (Black)

Olivette blanche x A. Lavallée crossing (INRA, French National Institute for Agricultural Research)

Olivette blanche: Late variety with female flowers.

A. Lavallée: 2nd stage. Large grapes.

Budding: Quite late (same stage as A. Lavallée).

Ripeness: 3rd stage, 3 weeks after A. Lavallée (i.e. 5 to 6 weeks after Chasselas).

Vigor: High. Light pruning required.

Production: High, but lower than A. Lavallée. Good conservation on vine-stock. Large and conical bunches of grapes. Elongated and black grapes, well separated, fleshy and resistant.

Conclusion: This improvement of A. Lavallée produces a good and late variety, whose characteristics are as interesting as Lival's.
