CARDINAL (Black)

Budding: Late (almost 2 weeks after Chasselas).

Ripeness: 1st stage (second half of July in optimal conditions). First large and colored grape variety available on the market.

Vigor: High. Short pruning recommended, but not necessary.

Production: High (more than 3 kilograms per vine-stock). Rather large and conical bunches of grapes. Spherical or ovoid grapes. Large, dark black or violet grapes. Thick skin. Pulpy and firm flesh. Simple savor that can be slightly musky when matured.

Conclusion: Good-quality and vigorous variety. High adaptability to any kind of vine management.
